Single Incision Laparoscopic Surgery

SILS (Single Incision Laparoscopic Surgery laparoendoscopic single site surgery- LESS or scarless surgery)

Rather than the traditional four to five small incisions, a single small incision at the umbilicus is used as the entry point. All surgical instruments are placed through this small incision and the surgery is performed. Post surgery with healing, the scar almost gets buried in the umbilicus leaving behind no scar, hence it is called as Scarless Surgery.

Benefits of SILS :

  • Better cosmesis
  • Less postoperative time
  • Less requirement of analgesia post operatively
  • Less chances of wound infection
  • Less cances of port site hernia
  • Shorter hospital stay & Fsst recovery
